Today, the Central Student Council (CSR) voted for a new chair as a result of the resignation of Manish Jhinkhoe-Rai.
The CSR voted for Abigail Gilchrist (020) as the new chair of the council in their meeting today, the 11th of May. She previously held the position of vice-chair within the council but has been acting chair since the resignation of Manish Jhinkhoe-Rai (Lief). The former chair resigned from his position on the 28th of April due to ‘personal circumstances’, according to the press release of the CSR.
Jhinkoe-Rai has a history in student politics at the faculty of science and he will remain a member of the student council.
The current CSR will remain in place until the 31st of August. After this date, the newly chosen members of the council will replace them. The elections will be held from the 16th of May simultaneous with the elections for all faculty councils.
As of now, it is undecided who will replace Gilchrist as vice-chair. A vote on this matter is expected to take place during the council’s next meeting on the 18th of May.
